Dear EDC 534 Students:
Welcome to our class. We are not using SAKAI. This semester, all our class activities will be available here: http://digitalauthorship.org
We’ll have an optional weekly 1-hour video meeting using the video conferencing system ZOOM each week. Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 7 p.m. Click here to join the meeting. At that time, we’ll find out what day of the week and time is best for most class members and make changes to our schedule accordingly.

SOME TECHNOLOGY GUIDANCE
We’ll be using a variety of technology as we flex our digital authorship skills. Regardless of your technology skills, you will find this a powerful graduate course experience as we “create to learn.”
Twitter for Beginners. Julie Smith’s tutorial is perfect if you’re wondering why Twitter is important for educators.
Create a Blog. You will be posting your academic work on your blog. You may use an existing blog or create a new one.
Our Closed Facebook Group. We will hold some asynchronous discussions about the ideas we encounter in the course on Facebook. To join the group, login to Facebook, then search on the phrase “digital authorship.” Find our group, then use your URI email, when prompted, to request membership. You can see the page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/digitalauthorship/
Welcome to the class and I will look forward to meeting you!
